LAMAHS

Life, Action, Mind and Heart Smart

Learning with understanding. Growing with capability. Contributing with purpose.

LAMAHS is a personalised developmental-learning framework that helps adults understand how a child communicates, relates, processes information and participates—then create more compatible learning across life, action, mind and heart.

A new paradigm in education

Understand the child
before choosing what to teach.

Traditional approaches may begin with curriculum, behaviour or age expectations. LAMAHS begins with the learner—their strengths, communication, relationships, capacity, participation, stress, environment, supports and agency.

NEXIE does not begin by asking only:
“What should this person be taught?”
It also asks:
“Who is this person? What is their unique blueprint? What is influencing their capacity to communicate, relate, regulate, learn and participate?”

A blueprint starts observation and responsive learning. It must never fix identity or limit what a child can become.

The LAMAHS framework

Four connected dimensions of
learning and development.

Life, Action, Mind and Heart are not separate subjects. The child draws on all four to understand what is needed, explore possibilities, consider relationships and apply learning.

Life + Action + Mind + Heart = whole-learner participation

Four connected dimensions

Learning that becomes
capability.

Each dimension includes a reflective planning question and age-appropriate opportunities for practice.

Capability and rectitude

Learn, contribute, reflect
and repair.

Real experiences develop capability; developmentally appropriate reflection builds responsibility without shame or forced apology.

Questions and Answers

Understand LAMAHS
before you begin.

What does LAMAHS mean?

Life, Action, Mind and Heart Smart—an integrated approach in which practical capability, purposeful action, thinking, emotional understanding, relationships and values develop together.

Is LAMAHS a curriculum?

LAMAHS is a proprietary developmental-learning framework and curriculum lens. It can inform planning and participation but does not replace an approved learning framework, registered curriculum, school syllabus or service responsibility.

Is LAMAHS only for children with additional needs?

No. It is designed to support fuller understanding of diverse learners. Suitability, adjustments and professional support depend on the child, context and setting.

Does SYMBEB diagnose my child?

No. SYMBEB is a collaborative reflective framework, not a diagnostic, psychometric, genetic, epigenetic or neurological assessment.

What does epigenetic-informed education mean?

It means considering development through continuing interaction between biology, relationships, experiences and environments. It does not test genes, identify biological causes or predict outcomes.

Can LAMAHS support home education?

It may support parent-led learning, routines, projects and reflection. Families undertaking formal home education remain responsible for registration, curriculum and legal requirements in their jurisdiction.

Can educators use LAMAHS professionally?

Potentially, through the appropriate edition and within qualifications, role, service governance and use rights. It does not change professional authority.

Can I deliver LAMAHS as a business?

Only through an approved commercial or Licensed Delivery pathway after meeting capability, learning, safeguarding, business and use-right requirements.

Does LAMAHS guarantee improved behaviour or learning?

No. It supports understanding, planning and participation, but individual development and outcomes vary.

Purpose. Pathway. Possibility.

Nurture understanding. Build capability.
Learn for life.
